The short version: you can use the rotation builder without an account. Your answers are saved in your browser, and a completed rotation also puts them in the URL so it can be shared. You do not need to give an email address to use the tool.

What is stored in your browser
The tool saves your unit preference, your five answers and the last rotation you generated in your browser's local storage under the key bmr-preferences. This lets a reload or a return visit pick up where you left off. The tool does not submit these saved values to an account or database.
A completed rotation also puts the answers in the address bar so the page can be shared (see below). If you reload or share that URL, the answers travel with the request and may appear in standard hosting logs.
You can remove it at any time with the “Start over” control in the tool, or by clearing site data for buildmyrotation.com in your browser settings.
Shared rotation links
A share link puts your answers in the URL so another person can rebuild the same rotation. The tool also keeps the address bar in step with a completed rotation, so copying the current URL reproduces what you are looking at. Treat either URL as public: anyone who has it can see those answers. A link does not include a name, email address or account identifier.
Email updates
If you subscribe to the rotation checklist or updates, we store the email address you submit and the page you subscribed from. The signup is handled by the email provider configured for the form; their privacy terms also apply. We use the address to send the checklist and occasional editorial updates, not to sell or rent it.
Every update includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email hello@buildmyrotation.com and ask for the address to be removed.
Analytics, cookies and server logs
We do not currently load third-party advertising trackers or product-analytics scripts on the public site, and we do not set advertising cookies. The hosting and content-delivery provider (Cloudflare) may process standard request logs, including IP address, browser type and the page or URL requested, to serve and protect the site.
If analytics is added later, this page will name the provider and explain what is measured before it goes live.
Retailer links
Shoe pages link to third-party retailers. Those sites have their own privacy and cookie policies, and we do not control what they collect. BuildMyRotation currently earns no commission on retailer links; if that changes, the link will be disclosed.

Changes
If the way data is handled changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Material changes affecting email subscribers will be explained in the next email.
